The Cardigans releases its first best of January 28
This first album best of The Cardigans will be released on January 28 at Mercury. The disc will also include a bonus CD with unpublished tracks and rare versions.
The first album best of The Cardigans follows Super Extra Gravity, the last opus of the group released in 2005. This disc brings together all the cult titles of the Swedish rock band formed during the first half of the 1990s.
The Cardigans is one of the rare bands to have immediately seduced the musical world, with its very personal rock melodies carried by the voice of Nina Persson. The first album, Emmerdale, released in 1994, has enjoyed significant success from Sweden to Japan, via Australia.
But it was not until First Band on The Moon, their third album appeared in 1996, so that The Cardigans confirm their international fame by becoming world stars. Because, on the tracklisting of the disc figure Lovefool, title became cult since its cover in the soundtrack of the film Romeo + Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann.
Since then, Cardigans have confirmed their success, especially with the titles My Favorite Game or Erase / Rewind, extracts from the album Gran Turismo released in 1998. Between 1998 and 2003, members of the group focused on their solo careers before ending up for a fifth opus, Long Day Before Night. Their last album, Super Extra Gravity, received very good reviews, described as "the most successful" of the training.
